ABOUT
Chad Bailey
A.P., D.C.H., Sifu, Guro Chad is an expert in Acupuncture, Oriental
Medicine, Tui Na Massage, Qi Gong, Tai Chi Chuan and Martial Arts,
who brings an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience to each
of his treatments or classes.
He discovered the Martial
Arts at an early age and began formal classes at the age of 12 while
growing up in rural Pennsylvania. His love for eastern teachings
quickly developed into a much deeper passion encompassing meditation,
philosophy, healing as well as martial arts. As a teenager, he learned
Tui Na, Chinese Massage & Manipulation, and similar techniques
from his martial arts instructors to complement his self-defense
skills. He earned his Undergraduate degree at Temple University
in Exercise Physiology. While in Philadelphia, Chad managed his
instructor's martial arts center (Master Tom Updegrove, www.martialposture.com).
Chad attended many various martial arts and healing seminars but
specifically toured and trained with Grandmaster Remy Presas (Modern
Arnis/ Hilot) and Ama Guro Billy Bryant (Kuntao Silat Cadena de
Mano/ Kidlat Escrima/ Sandata). He used the move to Santa Fe for
Graduate School to open his own martial arts school and expand his
desire for teaching. Through traveling and research he was able
to experience a wide range of fighting styles (5 black belts) and
healing techniques.
He relocated to Miami in
1995 and has been a successful physician and teacher at Shin Wellness
(www.shinwellness.com). Since moving, he has been a professor at
Florida College of Natural Health, Miami Dade College and the Acupuncture
and Massage College as well as local, national and international
seminars and retreats. Chad is also a freelance writer being published
in Black Belt magazine, Inside Kung-Fu, Fitness 2000, etc.
